Cleaning indicators

Cleaning indicators are used daily to test the effectiveness of the cleaning and the disinfection in washer-disinfectors used for cleaning standard instruments and instruments for minimally invasive surgery. It is the critical parameters: time, temperature, water pressure and concentration of the detergent that are monitored. Cleaning indicators

Product description

A material consisting of artificial blood in accordance with ISO 15883 is applied to the cleaning indicator. After a cleaning cycle, the result is read manually using the included reading card. The results can be recorded on a documentation sheet on an ongoing basis.

The use of indicators is intended for everyone who needs to test cleaning processes such as hospitals, the pharmaceutical industry, the primary sector, dental surgeries and the food industry.

Multi check

Time, Temperature, water presure and detergent concentration is measured with this indicator in just one go

ISO compliant

The cleaning indicator is ISO 15882 compliant

Daily safety

Use the indicator on a daily basis to make sure your washer-disincector works as intended – For your daily safety

Easy interpretation

After the cleaning cycle it is easy to do the visual inspection based on the reading card.

How to use

It is recommended that the efficacy of the cleaning process is tested for each operating cycle in order to minimise the risk of infection. This is done by placing a cleaning indicator in one of the three types of cleaning simulators – process challenge device (PCD), which simulates the penetration requirements for either hollow instruments, e.g. minimally invasive surgical (MIS) devices, equipment with small apertures or large porous loads.

Depending on the chosen PCD, this must be positioned in a representative place in the washer-disinfector or connected to a representative cleaning nozzle.

After the cleaning cycle has finished, the cleaning indicator is removed and inspected visually to ensure that there is no trace of the material on the indicator.

Product range

The indicators are supplied in packs of 50.

Biological Indicator, for verification of your hygiene process

Biological indicators used to test steam sterilisation are microorganisms (spores of Geobacillus stearothermophilus, originally from ATCC 7953), prepared on filter paper as carrier material and packed in primary packaging consisting of transparent plastic film and paper which is steam-permeable.
