Our Streptococcus antisera are manufactured free of cross-reactions with known strains in vials with 1 mL ready-to-use antiserum. This is sufficient for a minimum of 50 reactions.

How to use
Streptococcus antisera are used for precipitation of Lancefield extracts in a capillary tube.
Equal quantities of antiserum and extract are drawn up into a capillary tube – the serum uppermost, as the serum must diffuse down through the extract, and a precipitate is visualized for a positive reaction.

Antibodies can be frozen, but the process of freezing and thawing is damaging for the antibodies, and the titer will drop (even though not dramatically) due to decomposition. We have not made further studies on this, and cannot guarantee the stability of the sera, but we have experienced that mostly the titer stays at the same level if a serum only is frozen and thawn once.
